Primary School Assembly

Involving the Local School with the Development of Alexander House

As work on the build of the 67-bed care home continues, the team at Alexander House has recruited help from the local school. Westclyst Primary School is located next to the care home, and the team recently visited to ask the children in years 4 & 5 if they would like to take part in a competition where they would enter names for the lounge and dining rooms of the care home.

On Friday 25th March, a representative from the care home and the contractors attended the school's assembly to thank the children for their participation and to present those with the winning names with a certificate and some book vouchers.

The children are really excited to look around the care home when we open our doors in Summer 2022, and we are equally really looking forward to welcoming them and other members of the local community. We are also looking forward to building relationships with our other neighbours, and further developing our links with the school as we have plenty more intergenerational activities planned for the future with them and the local community.

We would like to once again thank the children of Westclyst Primary School for their valued contribution to the development of Alexander House, and we look forward to announcing the names of our lounge and dining rooms.
