Alexander House Care Home in Pinhoe will be providing Residential, Nursing, Respite and Dementia Care. Here’s a closer look at what Dementia Care at Alexander House will encompass.

The dementia community is located on the first floor of our care home in Exeter and has accommodation for up to 24 residents. Each resident will have their very own beautifully decorated en-suite bedroom with a choice of outlooks and interiors.

In addition, the community has two lounges with one opening up onto a large terrace and a large dining room that also opens up onto a terrace, providing the opportunity for al fresco dining.

There is a library that also makes a great setting for many of the organised daily activities, a bespoke designed sensory room, and a snug that has been beautifully retro-decorated and laid out as a railway carriage.

All of our spaces have been purposely designed in a homely style to offer familiarity and an area of tranquillity that can be enjoyed by all.

Dining within our dementia community, whether it be within the dining room or in the comfort of their own room, offers a calm and relaxing environment where the meals are appealing and menus are available in both word and picture format.

With soothing music playing in the background and tables that are set appropriately, it makes for a lovely dining environment that promotes both social skills and dignity.
