Alexander House Care Home in Pinhoe, Exeter

Located on the outskirts of the historic city of Exeter, our all-inclusive care home is situated in the residential area of Pinhoe, an area that has many amenities for residents to make use of such as supermarkets, pubs, parks, a library, and public transport links. Our activities coordinator goes to great lengths to ensure that our residents are active members of the local community, and thanks to our multi-utility vehicle, getting out and exploring the areas around our home couldn’t be easier.

We want every single one of our residents to feel right at home with us, and to be comfortable and proud enough to invite their own guests to visit. That is why we have created a purpose-built care home that is welcoming and comfortable, and full of onsite facilities that our residents and their visitors can use as they wish. Our range of exceptional onsite facilities includes luxury ensuite bedrooms, private gardens, a cinema, and much more. We also believe it’s important for our residents to regularly venture out into the areas surrounding our home. Whether to run some personal errands, pop to the local garden centre with fellow residents, or grab some lunch with loved ones, our team goes above and beyond to ensure our residents make the most out of living in Exeter.

Situated on the outskirts of Exeter, our care home is surrounded by plenty of things for our residents to see and do. For those of our residents who like to regularly grab some fresh air, a stroll, or the opportunity to admire wildlife, there are many green areas such as Northernhay Gardens and Belmont Park which are perfect places for older people to enjoy some quiet time in the great outdoors. We invest a lot of time and effort into ensuring we provide residents with opportunities to go out into the local community and live a social, varied, and active lifestyle.

Exeter is a city steeped in rich history, and there are a variety of museums, galleries, and landmarks that allow you to soak up all the history that the city has to offer. Exeter Cathedral, for instance, is a great place for residents to visit, whether it’s to just stroll around and experience the magnificent architecture, or whether it’s to attend one of the many events they hold throughout the year. The city is also home to the Royal Albert Museum and Memorial Art Gallery, which offers great insight into the history of Exeter and Devon and has a range of displays, child-friendly exhibits, a gift shop, and a café – and it’s free entry too!

No matter what our residents are interested in, there is something for everyone in our local area of Exeter. From visits to the Exeter Northcott Theatre to watch a musical or show to Saturday trips to the Topsham Farmers Market, our activities team goes above and beyond to ensure residents make the most of everything that Exeter has to offer. It is important to us that residents get out in the community to meet new people and pursue their interests, which is why we are only too happy to host or attend events with local groups and organisations.
