Welcoming the First of our Residents

The team led by our Home Manager, Amanda Oxley, were extremely pleased to open its doors and welcome the first of Alexander House’s residents and their loved ones to the home this week.

The home demonstrated its approach to person-centred care with welcome packs prepared ahead of each new residents arrival. The team was excited to meet our new residents and their families and help them settle in to their new rooms, which we invite residents to personalise how they see fit.

Once our new residents arrived, there was soon lots of chatting, laughter and getting to know one another. Residents spoke with our Head Chef, Karen to put in their requests, whilst enjoying their first glass of wine. We look forward to presenting our residents will more menus that feature high-quality, home-cooked meals.

We will be further working with our residents and their loved ones to learn about their preferences and interests, and what activities they like to do so that we can ensure we are supporting their overall wellbeing and meeting their every need.

Residents have since been familiarising themselves with their new surroundings and exploring more of what our care home has to offer, including our Cinema, Sensory Room and dining areas. We cannot wait to welcome more residents to our home and start creating special memories with them all and their families.
