The warm weather we have had recently has been very welcomed at Alexander House Care Home in Pinhoe as it has allowed our residents to make more use of our outdoor areas.

Residents recently enjoyed afternoon tea outside in the garden, which has plenty of space for our residents to sit and potter. Our garden is really starting to become established and looking very pretty with lots of flowers and shrubs blooming with this weather. We also had our Alexa playing and residents took turns in choosing their favourite song.

As wonderful as the warm weather has been, it has also been crucial for us that we ensure residents and our staff stay as hydrated as possible. Keeping hydrated had a number of positive effects on our minds and bodies, and helps support brain function, joints, digestion, and much more.

To help those at Alexander House stay hydrated, we have introduced a 'Hydration Station' as well as ice lollies, and ice creams, which residents have been thoroughly enjoying together. Our 'Hydration Station' provides cold refreshments and treats including juice, lemon water, fruit, and jelly. It encourages residents and staff to keep hydrated, but also offers them something to enjoy.

The overall wellbeing of our residents is extremely important to us, including their hydration and nutrition. It is a priority for us to ensure residents are happy ad healthy and we do all that we can to support this. We look forward to enjoying more of the summer weather together.

If you would like to find out more about how we support our residents at Alexander House Care Home, then please book a tour of our home or get in contact with our friendly team.
