A Royally Good Celebration for the King’s Coronation

Like many across the nation, the residents and staff at Alexander House Care Home in Pinhoe joined in with the celebrations for the King's Coronation, which took place last weekend.

We have been preparing for the coronation weekend for the last couple of months as our activities team themed many of our arts and crafts sessions around creating our very own, amazing, larger-than-life crown, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed participating in.

The creation of the crown definitely helped support our residents in building relationships with one another as well as get us all in the royal spirit for the weekend.

On the day of the coronation, we transformed our cinema for a special screening, adding bunting and providing residents with flags, hats, and refreshments, so that those who wanted to, could sit back, relax and watch the King's Coronation on our big screen in comfort.

Following the ceremony, our in-house Chef and kitchen team created a spread fit for a king in one of our dining rooms. There were quiches, sandwiches, crisps, fruit skewers, scones and much more for our residents to indulge in.

Our residents had a wonderful time celebrating together and reminiscing over previous coronations. We very much enjoyed sharing this special moment with one another and we look forward to many more celebrations at our care home in the future.
