An Abundance of Outdoor Areas to be Enjoyed at Alexander House

At our care home in Exeter, we have a variety of outstanding facilities and amenities that make our home luxury. From our en-suite bedrooms and commnal lounges to our hair salon and cinema room, every corner of our home has been designed, decorated, and furnished to the highest standard.

This is also the case with our outdoor spaces, as every floor of the home has direct access to the outdoors. Whether it be from our ground floor to the main garden, from our dining rooms and lounges onto balconies, or from our Café to the tranquil patio area, residents will never be short of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.

We value the positive impact that the outdoors has on people including boosting Vitamin D intake, the calming effects that contribute to improved mental wellbeing as well as helping with physical health. It was important for us that we enable residents to get outdoors and reap these benefits as easily as possible.

We are delighted that our home will give our residents and their loved ones many opportunities to relax outside together, whether for an afternoon tea, al fresco meal, or just a catch-up and a drink. Residents will also be able to enjoy the spaces together and we are excited to be able to host parties and family fun days such as summer fayres and BBQs for residents, loved ones, team members, and friends in the community.

Our ground floor has access to the main garden which offers plenty of space with paths designed to enable a nice meander through the garden, a patio area with some shade, seated dotting throughout along with a shed that has been earmarked for our future Gardening Club where residents can while away many hours in the vegetable patch, raised flower beds or herb garden. 

Despite currently being in Autumn, our team has been readily preparing our gardens for Springtime! Armed with over 400 bulbs and gardening tools, the team this week has been on a planting mission to transform some of the flowerbeds into a sea of daffodils. We can't wait to see the fruits of their labour.

One of our favourite aspects of our home is also our roof terrace, which has stunning views of the rolling Devonshire countryside. We are sure that this area will be a popular spot with our residents who just want to get outside, enjoy some fresh air and take in their surroundings on a sunny day.

All of this is offered alongside a variety of care services including Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite Care. We look forward to welcoming our future residents, their loved ones and our neighbours to see what else our care home in Pinhoe, Exeter has to offer very soon.
