The Most Pawsitive Start to December!

On Tuesday 10th December, Alexander House was filled with smiles, laughter, and a lot of wagging tails as we welcomed three adorable 9-week-old Cockapoo puppies for a special Pet Therapy session. The visit was perfectly timed to coincide with our cinema afternoon and added an extra element of joy and excitement to the day.

As the playful puppies explored the room, residents couldn’t resist giving them plenty of cuddles, strokes, and affection. Their soft fur and gentle, inquisitive nature brought a calming and comforting presence which made it a truly heartwarming experience for everyone involved. For many of our residents, it was a beautiful reminder of the pets they have loved in the past and sparked fond memories and lively conversations.

Pet therapy plays an important role in our home, as it provides emotional and well-being support for residents. Interacting with animals has been proven to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve mood, and this visit certainly did just that. It was a wonderful way to lift spirits, especially on a chilly winter’s day when the weather outside felt less inviting.

The visit not only brightened the day for our residents but also for the team, who enjoyed seeing so many happy faces and hearing laughter fill the room. These moments of connection—whether through animals, meaningful activities, or simply spending time together—are at the heart of what we strive to provide at Alexander House.

We’re already planning our next pet therapy session and are looking forward to creating more magical moments like this. It’s safe to say the puppies are welcome back anytime! To find out more about the exceptional lifestyle we offer to our residents and meet our expert team, book a visit and explore Alexander House for yourselves!
